About Jess

I’ve worked with people my whole life—teaching, hiring, managing, building teams. Somewhere in between lesson plans and job interviews, I realized I was drawn to the same thing every time: what makes people connect, stay, and care. That’s what I write about now.

Writing romance felt inevitable. I write about people who try, fail, and try again—about how vulnerability and communication are often the hardest parts of loving someone.

My work leans into emotional realism, layered characters, and dialogue that sounds like real humans talking. A good romance isn’t about perfection—it’s about recognition. It’s about seeing yourself in someone else’s struggle and rooting for them anyway. It’s also about recognizing stupid, because if there’s a truth in human existence, it’s that “we’re all fools in love.”

I live in Colombia with my husband Jorge and our dog Mina. I drink too much coffee and have a growing collection of notebooks filled with half-finished chapters. I used to collect stickers, but I gave them all to my niece because stickers should be used, not kept in a drawer. I buy books faster than I can read them, and sign up for more ARCs than time allows (hence the perennial dark circles under my eyes).
